Smodelator Frullo

The Frullo is a professional smodelator, an adjustable low-speed axial grinder with an M14 bit attachment to use all M14

diamond bits vertically instead of at 90° as with the angle grinders.

The name "Smodelator" comes from the Carrara dialect "smodellare" meaning to remove material from the

shapeless marble with a certain speed giving the first forms to the sculpture and is therefore the opposite of "modeling".

The Frullo was designed, tested, modified and produced entirely by Tabularasa.

After two years of testing and modifications carried out between Rome and Carrara, the Frullo is finally available

starting from January 2025!!!

The Frullo is sold in a dedicated wooden case and includes three stainless steel extensions, a pair of safety glasses with

tempered glass lenses, an additional plastic handle, two spare carbon brushes, two 19 mm wrenches, a 17 mm wrench.

The Frullo is light and easy to handle but at the same time very robust.

The machine was tested by dozens of sculptors and stonemasons before being put on the market.

Our brazed diamond bits were designed and manufactured exclusively for Tabularasa using the indications of stone carvers

and stonemason friends who helped us during the tests.

The upper handle, the neck of the machine, is covered with black heat-absorbent rubber for a secure grip and to avoid

the heat that would be found by directly gripping the metal neck of the machine without the rubber protection.

The Frullo is also available in 110V - 60 Hz with U.S. electric plug.

The speed of use must be adjusted according to the size of the diamond bit:

if you use a bit with a diameter of 50/60/80 mm or with high length or weight, the speed of the machine must be adjusted

to minimum.

For medium-sized bits the speed must be adjusted to half, for small bits use the maximum speed.

Our diamond bits are vacuum brazed but you can obviously also use electroplated or sintered diamond bits.
